Akoto, a thirteen-year-old orphan and native of Awudua near Tarkwa, was staying with his aunt at Nzema Akropong. She had difficulty walking due to this condition and could not go to school, although she was enrolled at Adedome Basic School. She was referred to SusDA by the Girl Child Officer at GES, Mamfe Adedome. SusDA provided funding for orthopedic surgery at St. Joseph&#8217;s Hospital, Dzodze, to correct the condition. The surgery was successful.
