Climate Change & Green Energy
SusDA monitors the impacts of climate change on nature and communities and work on conservation and restoration to improve resilience and adaptation. We turn waste into value. We transform organic waste into biogas and organic fertilizers. We also transform waste-water into clean water. The biogas is used for cooking and to produce electricity and other forms of energy.

Sustainable Agriculture
We support farmers to practice sustainable agroecological agriculture by promoting agronomic practices that have positive impact on the environment. We use sustainable agriculture to strengthen food security and alleviate poverty.

agroecology or regenerative agriculture, is an approach to farming that aims to meet the current and future needs of food production while minimizing negative environmental impacts, promoting social equity, and ensuring economic viability. It involves practices that are environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and economically viable, considering the long-term health and resilience of agricultural systems. Here are some key principles and practices associated with sustainable agriculture:
Land Use & Restoration
SusDA promotes sustainable use of land and facilitates the restoration of degraded land. We also advance justice and equity in conservation. We work to ensure that small holder farmers have control over their food sources and there is fairer distribution of land, particularly for women, young people and excluded groups. Suahunu is one of the land use restoration intervention projects .
Suahunu Expedition (Experience it yourself)
Suahunu means experience. The project has the vision of creating an informed group of citizens who engages positively with nature against the negative effects of climate change with the vision of promoting people’s love for nature and shaping their career paths through ecotourism and career exposure. SUAHUNU was launched on Tuesday, the 24th of March 2022 with Ascot School International in Accra. The project established has five components:
- Establishment of Eco-clubs with selected schools in the Greater Accra region.
- One child. one tree project
- Eco-Tourism initiative with basic schools, secondary schools and universities
- Climate Festival with children
- Career development for children
Women & Children Rights Protection
SusDA views equality and equity as the bedrock sustainable development. We work to enhance the agency of all who are marginalized based on gender, age, (dis)ability, ethnicity, race, class, or sexuality and to ensure environmental policies and practices are just and effective.

Women’s and children’s rights protection is essential for creating a just and equitable society. It involves ensuring the safety, well-being, and equal opportunities for women and children, promoting their empowerment, and addressing issues such as discrimination, violence, and exploitation.
- Gender Equality: Gender equality is fundamental to protecting women’s and children’s rights.
- Ending Violence Against Women and Children: Protecting women and children from all forms of violence is crucial.
